Okay, so my dear readers nowadays you are very much accustomed and sentient to the new fashion or rather to the new trend that has come up in town- that's call photography! These days it has become a heart throbbing craze among people. Everywhere in social networking sites like facebook, twitter, tumblr, instagram, they are found active and busy uploading pics, yes the "edited pics" and I
must mention that they claim themselves to be aspiring or rather professional photographers. I would like to state that I am not here to underestimate anyone but I need to say that people who do not even know what photography is claim themselves to be wannabe photographers. What I feel like asking each and everyone out there with a camera in their hands that if you people really consider yourselves as photographers then why do you rely on editing softwares?

There are so many editing softwares coming up day by day namely pics art, aviary, picasa and oh yes the mother of all- photoshop. People click a different picture and they upload a completely new one, one which is edited. So what is photography? A
photography is the art of capturing a moment of time. Note the word "moment". It is the moment of life. How can you even think of editing it? The moment you are editing it, it is becoming something different from what you actually captured. A photo is something that will stay as a memory to you. Is this what you call photography and being a professional photographer?

Earlier, photography were done using daguerreotypes and now technology has so developed that digital cameras have come up.I guess many of you must remember that the cameras in those days had the capacity to capture a few number of photos depending on the reels. But now it is the age of digital cameras where you are getting the scope to capture as many photos as you want, good or bad, and then you get the chance to select among them.Upto this it is okay. But then you surrender yourselves to the editing softwares. I ask why? Don't you have confidence or faith in yourselves or you yourselves dislike your clicked photos and thus prefer to edit them? My dear folks if you consider this to be professional photography then let me tell you that every single person on this earth can be considered as a good photographer.

Photography should be something which is real in itself, something which should be editing free, something that captures its reality and originality. It should give life to it.When a photo is edited it is no longer in its original state, it becomes fake. It ceases to be what it actually was. It starts loosing its natural attire. It is becoming artificial. You think that you are completing it by brushing it up with edits but actually in real sense it is losing its life, its beauty and its poise.

I would again prefer to mention that I am not here to criticize or underestimate anyone. I just wanted to put forward my opinion. I am heartily sorry if my post has hurt anyone of you but this is what I feel. Technological change is required but not in this drastic manner that kills the true meaning of art. If this continues then the day is not far enough when there will be nothing called photography or the art of photography. Take a minute from your busy schedule and do think about it.
